Pépinières Vessières is a four-generation family nursery based in the Pyrénées-Orientales (near Perpignan) that has spent the last decade specialising in rare and unusual citrus trees grown entirely on-site in an agro-ecological way. Their online shop lists over 300 plant varieties across categories such as bergamot, cedrat, finger lime (citron caviar), kumquat, yuzu/papeda, mandarin, clementine, pomelo, grapefruit, tangelo, lime, lemon, and bigarade, plus a dedicated range of 100+ cold-hardy citrus hybrids and a broader selection of around 78 other rare fruiting plants including Sichuan pepper, goji berry, and serviceberry. All plants are grafted in-house onto rootstocks suited to French growing conditions and sold in 4-litre pots at prices typically around €20–25 per plant. From late September they also sell fresh citrus fruit harvested from their own orchards, supplied to gastronomic chefs. Mail-order shipping across France is available.
