La Maison du Bananier is an ecological nursery founded in 2004 near Nantes (Couëron), specialising above all in bananas and exotic plants — it claims one of the largest collections of ornamental and fruiting banana varieties in Europe, carefully selected for cold-hardiness and adaptability to French gardens. Beyond bananas, the shop offers a broad range of fruit trees (sold bare-root in season), hardy citrus, tropical and Mediterranean fruit trees, vegetable garden plants, ornamental exotics (cannas, hedychiums, hibiscus, bamboos, tree ferns, carnivorous plants, alocasia, colocasia), and classic garden shrubs. The vast majority of stock is home-grown under unheated tunnels without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers, with pot sizes typically ranging from 1 to 6 litres. Plants can be ordered online for home delivery, relay-point collection, or click-and-collect at the nursery, with shipping across Europe.
