Kwekerij Bastin is a small-scale, sustainably run nursery in Aalbeek, Zuid-Limburg, specialising in a broad range of perennials, lavender, herbs, Mediterranean plants, prairie plants, and ornamental grasses. Their stock typically covers around 1,000 plant species drawn from a propagation collection of some 4,000 varieties, with a clear focus on scented, bee- and butterfly-friendly, edible, and winterhardy Mediterranean species such as Lavandula, Salvia, Rosmarinus, Thymus, and Santolina — of which they maintain several official Dutch national collections. Beyond living plants, they also sell lavender-derived products including dried flowers, lavender soap, hydrolat, essential oil, and even lavender lemonade and ice cream. Plants are grown entirely without chemical or biological pesticides using 100% peat-free, organically fertilised compost. The webshop features a daily-updated live stock list for online ordering, and themed open days are held throughout the year for specialities like hellebores and a wide range of vegetable seedlings (tomatoes, pumpkins, peppers, etc.).
