Grimo Nut Nursery, based at 979 Lakeshore Rd, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada, is a specialist nursery founded by Ernie Grimo with over 50 years of experience breeding and propagating nut and fruiting trees. Its catalogue spans a wide range of bare-root nut trees (hazelnut, heartnut, butternut, black walnut, northern walnut, pecan, hickory, chestnut, beech, oak, ginkgo) alongside fruiting and berry plants such as persimmon, pawpaw, fig, mulberry, quince, haskap, aronia, saskatoon berry, kiwi, and elderberry, plus pine nut trees. The nursery also sells fresh edible nuts, grafting supplies, harvest tools, tree shelters, and care products. Bare-root trees are spring-dug and shipped in April–early May; pre-orders for the following season open in July. Potted trees are available for in-person pick-up at the farm from late June to mid-October. The nursery emphasises cold-hardiness, having trialled cultivars from North America, Europe, and Asia in its on-site 10-acre orchard to identify the best performers for northern climates.
