Ordering at this place literally was the worst experience ever.. Delivery costs nor price quality for what you get make it worth ordering here. What I see from reviews is that this webshop is somewhat fallen glory. Older reviews are holding this google rating up. For how long?
Shop description
À l'ombre des figuiers is a French specialist nursery (pépinière de collection) based in Pluguffan, Finistère (Brittany), founded in 2006 and selling online since then. Its core strength is an exceptionally broad collection of palms — both temperate and tropical — alongside bananiers, cordylines, yuccas, agaves, cycas, fougères, magnolias, and other ornamental trees and shrubs sourced from all five continents, totalling around 3,000 varieties. It also carries a strong fruit-tree offer including figs, citrus, avocados, papayas, kiwis, and pawpaws, plus dedicated ranges of camellias, bamboos (garden and indoor), succulents, and indoor plants (aroids, bromeliads, orchids, caudex plants). Rounding out the catalogue are rare and collectible garden trees and horticultural reference books. Plants are shipped year-round via courier and Chronopost, and the physical nursery is also open to visitors Monday–Saturday.
In-depth review
The most expensive plants in my collection come from this shop. When I saw what got delivered I was shocked. Price quality my worst experience as of yet.
Delivery costs were through the roof. While the delivery experience was also fucked up. Delivery service, (DPD) sent the plants from France to Germany, then to my place while Germany is the other way lol. Then a subcontractor of DPD left my package in a warehouse for days in blazing hot summer. I had to call to DPD, get the number of an employee at the subcontractor. That guy on the other line jokingly said 'oh yeah those plants are not looking good'.
What you get for 120 EUR is a plant that's in worse shape, less big.... than a 50 EUR plant at any other nursery. I ordered for around 600EUR. All different species. None were worth it.
